Club History
Earlsdon runs 3 senior men's sides, an U19 colts,a women's team, and mini and junior from 7 to 17.
Just try getting your car parked on a Sunday Morning !
The club was founded 1905 by Earlsdon Baptist Church and played on local parks. There may have been games prior to this but this is widely accepted as our start date.
We were based in the City Arms pub which is still our watering hole along with The Oak in Earlsdon.
From 1946 - 1954 the team played at Browns Lane butin 1954 Earlsdon bought 3 1/2 acres on Kirby Corner and built their own clubhouse out of an old air-raid shelter.
The ground was then sold to build a science park next to Warwick University. Earlsdon relocated round the corner at Mitchell Avenue with 13 1/2 acres and a £250000 clubhouse in 1988.
As well as Neil Back Earlsdon have produced a Scotland representative, Alan Warwood, along with numerous Coventry and Warwickshire players. Some of these players that have moved up have now returned with a wealth of experience to add to the vibrant social life. Rob Callaway currently back in the 1st XV an ex skipper of Warwickshire and Coventry player and more recently Carl Rimmer who has moved to Coventry via Nuneaton and has also represented the full Warwickshire team.
We also run a popular end of season 7-aside tournament for local junior clubs. Which is a traditional end of season festival of Rugby and the chance to socialise with players from local teams that we don't play any more with the advent of leagues.
We have been running this for the last 50 years.
With a Cup and plate competition to keep the interest levels up - there are normally 28 - 30 teams competing so with supporters etc its an excellent day out rain or shine there's always the beer tent.
